THE WAR ELEPHANT
This war Elephant stand alone in the battle field after he defeat enemy battalions, actually he lives with tribal people if you notice the Armor all are made by wood they tied with some creepers.
Here, I used software is Z brush 4 and Photo shop with the help of Wacom tablet, lets go step by step process.
Step:1 Base mesh
I start base mesh in Maya for Zbrush with equal space of polygons, the equal polygons will help you to bring your sculpt without any breaks.
Step:2 Push & Pull
I used push and pull technique with the help of move tool, push and pull the geometry until you reach the exact shape according your concept.
Step:3 Alphas
After I finished the sculpting part, I used some alphas for the detailing part, I created the alphas from the original Elephant Image, select the parts which is really you need for your sculpt, go to photo shop.
invert ( Ctrl + I ) the images which you selected from the original image save as PSD and go to Zbrush.
import the alphas which you saved from your local folder now you can apply the alphas wherever you want on the sculpted Elephant.
Step:4 Masking
Hold Ctrl+draw the mask on your sculpted Elephant for creating armor, use the extract button which I have shown below the masked area will be separate as a new sub tool then sculpt detail again on the extracted one your armor will be ready.
Like this I created all the armors.
Step:5 Using Zsphere
For the creepers around the Elephant body I used Zsphere from the tool panel, select Zsphere and come down to Rigging click select meshan another panel will be pop up there you can select the Elephant mesh.
The image will be like this then go to Zsketch there you can find Editsketch just click that.
Left top side you can find the brush icon, (Image added below ), I marked in red color if you click that the quick pick panel will be pop up now you can choose the brush according to your needs then draw on the Elephant body wherever you want until you get the result like your concept.
I finished all the sculpting part now I need to color it lets go for polypaint.
Step:6 Polypaint
Here you need to go Masking panel there you need to click Mask By Cavity the Image will be looklike this now you can apply the base color.
Here also you can draw the mask for there you don't want to do color, the unmasked area can be colored by clicking the polypaint-colorizeafter clicking that option now you can apply the color wherever you want.
Ctrl+click on the empty area for inverse selection.
Ctrl_Drag on empty area for removing the mask.
If you switch off the colorize button the basic color which you have selected in the color swatches will be visible automatically.
If you want to fill the exact color just go to color panel choose the color what you want tab the fill object button the basic will be done.
While you paint you can manage your layers also as I shown here.
Body color has done now I am moving for the armor.
You follow the same technique for all the sub tools.
Here I put some basic lights in the light panel, and go to Render panel just click Best after render go to Document panel and click Export now save your masterpiece.
In the end, I would like to thank you for the support that you have shown by reading this article, for more articles please keep visiting...
